Our experience backs us up

Our experience endorses us as the main experts in the methodology and our way of working, always in line with the guidelines of the Council of Europe, is adapted to the reality of the participating municipalities and is based on the proximity and accompaniment, from beginning to end, to the local governments that take part in the process.

HOW DO WE WORK?

1. SELF-ASSESSMENT

Each municipality self-assesses itself using the CoE benchmark (72 indicators under 12 principles).

2. SURVEYS

Each municipality conducts surveys of citizens, their elected officials and municipal workers, in order to cross-check the information from the self-assessment.

3. PEER COMPARISON

If the edition requires it, we organise and dynamise a session with the participating municipalities so that they can compare themselves with each other, refine their answers and look for homogeneous criteria.

4. RESULTS

We analyse the results of self-assessments and surveys, and prepare individual, confidential reports, including key participation data, as well as an improvement plan to enable participating governments to continue working towards excellence in governance.

OUR ADDED VALUE

UPDATE

Before starting each edition, and always maintaining the indicators proposed by the Council of Europe, we carry out a process of updating and adapting the self-assessment tool. New regulations, social changes or the idiosyncrasy of the municipalities that are going to participate require a continuous revision of the tool.

FORMATION

We train in the European methodology, both the entities that are going to promote the project in their territory, as well as the local governments of the same. In addition, once the participating municipalities have been identified, we offer training to both the political and technical positions designated to the project, so that their participation is optimal.

ONGOING ASSISTANCE

We accompany all participating local governments from the beginning to the end of the process. We provide them with all the necessary means to ensure that their participation is agile and profitable.

VERIFICATION

After the self-assessment process, we process and verify, one by one, the evidence provided for each indicator in order to ensure that the process is truthful, objective and demanding. In addition, we analyse the responses obtained in the surveys of citizens and elected officials.
